Department Volunteer Applications
If you would like an application emailed to you feel free to email Chief Lee O'Dell and he will gladly send you an application in pdf format to fill out and email back or drop off at the station.
We are always looking for good volunteers for our dept and will do all training in house and out of house at the departments expense. You do not need any formal training to join. Just fill out the application, come to an officers meeting for interview and we will consider your application. The position is 100% volunteer at this time but is a great start for anyone wanting to join the fire service.
BURN PERMITS-
Email Chief Lee O'Dell and have a burn permit emailed directly to you. Burn permits are required by the Missouri Dept of Natural Resources for any open burning. All burn piles must be inspected by the department prior to burning and permit submitted to Mo DNR office for authorization. Please allow approximately 1 week for return of permit. Under no circumstances will permits be handled with less than 7 days notice due to length of time to get authorization back from Mo DNR.
Anyone caught burning without a permit can face fines, imprisonment, or court cases by the Mo DNR office not the Wood Heights Fire District. Permits are free of charge and rather easy to obtain.
