Department Appreciation

 

Wood Heights Fire Protection District would like to thank the Excelsior Springs Fire Dept for donating to our department 1200' of 5" Supply hose and 700' of 3" supply/attack hose.  This hose is used to connect fire trucks to the fire hydrants that are available for us during a fire.  Wood Heights appreciates all the help that we get from Excelsior Fire donation wise as well as training classes they offer and invite us to attend.

 

New Association Member

 

Wood Heights Fire Dept is a proud member of the newly developed Ray County Chiefs Association in Ray County Missouri.  Deputy Chief Lee O'Dell is currently the Vice President of the association.  The Ray County Chiefs Association (RCCA) is a association where every dept that serves Ray County is invited to attend and be apart of.  This association meets 1 time a month and they discuss ways to emprove each departments training, mutual aid working relationships, organize training programs thru MUFRTI, help keep departments on every changing trends and policies within the public safety network.  The association will also apply for grants that will improve equipment & tools for each department that is involved in the association county wide.  The RCCA is currently working on developing a county wide Basic Firefighter Class so each department can send members to the class and be certified in Basic Firefighting Techniques.

 

Missouri Dry Hydrant Tax Credit Info-  If you install a Dry Hydrant in your pond or lake with access for our department to be able to use it for water source you can receive a tax credit.  Click on the link for more information and contact Lee O'Dell (Deputy Chief) and we will work with you to get the dry hydrant installed properly to spec and operational.
